April 1, 2012 is day one of the ergoqueen diet. I decided to research diets, weight loss obesity and diabetes, trying to find common threads, what was effective and what was crap. I wanted to use peer reviewed research as a baseline to eliminate some of the more spurious claims and flat out sales pitches.
A quick summary of my findings is that obesity and weight is a lot more complex than just cutting calories. Genetics, stress, activity, eating times, seasons, nutrition balance, even our language has a role in our weight. So my challenge was to find reasonable research in what was effective in weight loss and insulin reactivity to reduce my type II Diabetes.
What I found was all these things had an effect on weight. Maybe not a big effect, but a little one in most cases. So if I put all these little things together they should add up to a effective weight loss.
So I have played around with these things for a month or so and tomorrow I put them together and see if it works.
